Cardiology

Veterinary cardiology has made significant progress in recent years, and we now have more diagnostic tests and treatments available to detect, manage, or alleviate cardiac and respiratory conditions that can impact the quality of life of our pets.

Heart and respiratory diseases may present with some of the following symptoms:

  • Cough: it can be severe or mild but persistent.

  • Dyspnea: difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.

  • Weakness or lethargy: often linked to aging but can also indicate underlying disease.

  • Exercise intolerance: the pet may struggle with physical activities it previously performed easily.

Radiography

It is the most widely used diagnostic test
to value the heart, lungs
and the rest of the chest.

Electrocardiogram

It is the test that measures the electrical activity of the heart. Arrhythmias are an electrical disorder that alters the normal heart rate, and can cause serious health effects in our animals.

Echocardiography

It is the test that allows us to see the structure of the heart internally and thus be able to arrive at a more specific diagnosis of the pathology.
